THE FANG is an everyday board that will have you flying down the line at super speed. With a flatter than an average rocker, this board is a speed machine and will have you carrying through flat and powerless sections with ease.

What you thought of when you designed it?
I was looking for a board that would be super fun and surfable in less than impressive conditions. You have to face the facts, we can’t all live in parts of the world that get consistently clean, hollow, groomed waves. More often than not you’ll be surfing conditions you wouldn't see in a magazine or video so I wanted to design a board that would have you covered for all the rest.
What it possibly compromises on then?
With the flatter rocker, the board doesn’t hook as well in the pocket compared to a board with more tail rocker. It tends to project out and down the line a little more.

Design info
Outline
Slightly fuller nose, parallel midsection, hip into a Fang tail. The fuller nose and parallel outline assist with paddle ability to get into the wave and down the line speed once you're going. Whilst the hip and fang tail allows for quick redirections enabling the board to surf radically at speed.
Rails
Low, shortboard performance style. The low rails offer some sensitivity, the first thing you do when turning is bury one rail, when it’s lower it drops in quicker and easier. This helps offset some of the stiffness coming from the outline.
Rocker
Slightly flatter rocker. With this amount of rocker, the board stays nice and fast and maintains good carry and paddle speed.
Bottom
Flat bottom. Fast and reliable.
Deck
The deck is a fairly standard profile, the board is not super thick so even though it has low rails, the roll is quite comfortable.
Fins
Thruster. For top to bottom surfing the thruster will always be the better option.
