The TORPEDO FAAST PRO was originally designed as a board for the Red Bull heavy water and then added to the line up because of its raceboard fun factor.
The race board to surf or downwind. An allrounder with some downwind and surf bias. Most likely the most versatile raceboard we have.
A raceboard that’s fun to use in the surf or downwind. Not the fastest board in the range, but the funnest.

About the board
GENERAL GOAL/THEME OF THE BOARD
A raceboard that’s fun to use in the surf or downwind. Not the fastest board in the range, but the funnest.
CONDITIONS ITS WORKING BEST
An all round board that you can take in the surf, flat or howling downwind conditions. A super fun board in everything.
SKILL LEVEL ITS BEST FOR
Novice to Pro.. Just choose width accordingly.
PADDLE POWER
Excellent.
WHAT YOU THOUGHT OF WHEN YOU DESIGNED IT?
I needed to make a board that would surf and be easy to handle in the waves for redbull. Also have decent paddle speed.
WHAT IT POSSIBLY COMPROMISES ON THEN?
Not the widest tail so can be a little less stable than the allrounder for kickturns.
Shape details summary |
Design info
OUTLINE
Fairly standard nose outline. Tail is quite skinny which allows you to lift the nose when surfing or downwinding.
RAILS
Up front the rails are fairly tucked to make a little more forgiving due to the nose width. Through the middle the rails are thin and low and help give that bite when this wide curvy board is on rail and also reduces volume so preventing skip out mid hard bottom turn. The tail rails are very hard and thin and give good release and plenty to push hard against and combined with the thin, low sides you’ll never feel like you need to nurse the board through hard turns.
ROCKER
Medium rocker. Nothing crazy here.
BOTTOM
Fairly soft up the front to flat through most of the board.
DECK
Flat, with a slight cut out area for the foot position to give you more stability.
FINS
Single Race Fin
Final Statement
If you like to surf and downwind your raceboard and prioritise fun over all out speed then this is your board.
