BALSAFLEX is SUNOVA’s original construction from our legendary founder, and pioneer of the parabolic rail - Bert Burger. Refined through 30 years of relentless innovation, this isn't your normal surfboard construction. The bottom is a 1.5mm balsa/fiberglass sandwich that is not completely rigid. There is a slight weight difference between the two, the 2-piece board will weigh approximately 2-3kg more depending on the size of the board. 
The mid section will be slightly stiffer. As the board is heavily reinforced around the 2-piece components. So your board will last for years to come. 
You will be a lot more relaxed when travelling with your 2-piece board.
