About the board
General goal | theme of the board
A High performance board for foilers looking for a board built to shred.
Wave type ||| size it's working best
All waves, favours Juicy waves.. ||| From just under waist high up to double over head and more.
Manoeuvres it does best
Everything you like to do on your performance foil board.
Skill level it's best for
Beginner to pro. Just choose size according to level.
Paddle power
These boards are thinner than our standard sunova model so the 4’3 feels more like the 4’0. We are seeing a move towards longer boards now as people are attacking the foam sections and the extra length helps glance off that without diving under. So generally you can ride these boards longer than your short fat boards without noticing the length when foiling but having extra paddling power.
What you thought of when you designed it?
I wanted a board that wouldn't move a heap of water when catching waves, paddled fast and had enough surface area to attack foam and critical sections to help glance off the water when touching down all without noticing the length when foiling and pumping.
What it possibly compromises on then?
These are skinny boards which are very sensitive, it could take some getting used to for some riders.
Shape details summary | Design info
Outline
The board is skinnier and pulled in more at the nose and tail than previous models. I use the 4’3 and it feels smaller than the previous 4’0” I had.
Rails
The rails are big and fat to stop the rail catching and steering you on touchdowns.
Rocker
The rocker on this board is a little lower than previous models but the new shape deck allows the nose to smoothly go under water if it needs to and flow back out without pushing a heap of water.
Bottom
Staring at the nose we have a very round bottom which quickly flows into quad concave with the outer points of concaves higher than the inside (almost like 4 vee concaves) causing water to flow and release off the lower points for a very smooth transition from being in the water to foiling with no huge speed jump like a flat bottom board does when the whole thing separates at the same time. The back third has the Box area which has been set to the correct angle to the standing area so the board around it can have some rocker. The tail has cutaways and a little flip behind the boxes to reduce wetted surface area when touching down and reducing volume to allow the tail to sink when you get to your feet and need to pump it out of the water.
Deck
We have a concave deck to get the rider as close to the foil as possible while maintaining volume needed. It's a soft concave without any drastic edges so it doesn't trap water on the deck after takeoff.

Final Statement
Get one if you want to a board with extra length without feeling bigger than your short stubby style board.
