BALSAFLEX is SUNOVA’s original construction from our legendary founder, and pioneer of the parabolic rail - Bert Burger. It is our primary construction for all boards over 8’. Developed over the past 30 years and refined to provide the most unbelievable surfing experience, this technology is not one to look past if you are in the market for a Longboard. A lightweight EPS core is coupled with a ½” parabolic balsa rail that is then sandwiched between balsa skins top and bottom offering a product with unmatched spring and return.

The bottom is a 1.5mm balsa/fiberglass sandwich that is not completely rigid. This softer area on the bottom cushions the ride of the board, making it amazingly unaffected by chatter, giving you a smooth ride even when conditions are bumpy and average. The deck is a 2mm balsa/fiberglass sandwich with mini I beams that connect the glass under the wood, with the glass over. This creates a very rigid strong sandwich structure that is incredibly resistant to compressions, creating a strong and responsive feeling underfoot.

Finished off with solid balsa nose and tail blocks for additional resistance to dings, these boards look even better than they perform. Fitted with a self-regulating air vent that utilizes a slightly permeable Goretex membrane encased in a special aluminum vent designed and engineered by TBF, BALSAFLEX boards are functional and forward-thinking.

MORPHLEX is SUNOVA’s premium performance construction. Developed over the last 5 years, from the ever persistent pursuit of perfect performance, It is our primary construction for all surfboards under 8’. MORPHLEX is designed to have more spring and return in shorter boards than its BALSAFLEX predecessor, giving you a positive “more flexible” flex pattern as the board is loaded and unloaded through sections. “Morphing” and bending right into the pocket and rebounding predictably these boards fly out of sections with so much speed and life. TR3 TEC is SUNOVA’s most popular surf SUP and foil technology. After the success of our ECOTec technology and due to the rising cost of materials and our push for sustainability we introduced TR3 TEC. Using similar base materials but incorporating models from our entire SUP snjd foil range TR3 TEC enables us to offer a great product at a reasonable price point.

A lightweight EPS core is coupled with a parabolic carbon fiber rail and sustainably sourced Paulownia wood making for a very aesthetically pleasing package. The wood is sandwiched top and bottom with fiberglass and bio epoxy resin, giving it good flex characteristics but making it extremely resistant to paddle marks or depressions. Finished off with natural colors and tones these boards look very sleek with an EVA deck pad that matches the overall theme. A ledge handle makes these boards super easy to transport and carry.

XXX TEC is SUNOVA’s premium SUP and foil technology. It is available in all surf SUP and foilboards. Evolved from our original Balsaflex technology and tailored to suit stand up paddle boards, this tech offering is our most high performance.

ECO TEC is SUNOVA’s most popular Allround SUP technology. It was created to provide great value for money, with a beautiful, quality construction at a mid tier price point. Available in a few select shapes and sizes. Designed to be eco-friendly by incorporating sustainably sourced Paulownia timber as a sandwich material and bio epoxy resin, whilst also being a strong durable product that will stand the test of time to reduce future waste.

A lightweight EPS core is coupled with sustainably sourced Paulownia wood making for a very aesthetically pleasing package. The wood is sandwiched top and bottom with fiberglass and bio epoxy resin. Finished off with a very grippy EVA deck pad with and ledge handle these boards are really functional for all.

SUNS TEC 2 is our high end offering in the suns range. It was created with the same core values and properties as suns Tec 1 but in a slightly more reactive, high performance package.

It is available in all performance surfboards in the suns range and is the lightest, most positive feeling construction underfoot.

A high density EPS core is completely encased in a medium gram fiberglass, this is then filled with a special foaming bio epoxy resin to fill in the weave and begin to create a strong, durable structure. The board is then final shaped and laminated with fiberglass again in a special double lamination process that enables us to recreate the strength and flex properties of a sandwich construction board, without the traditional sandwich medium.

Available in several colors and finishes throughout the range, these boards present really good value at a great price point.
