CONDITIONS IT'S WORKING BEST:

Good down the line waves from shoulder high to over mast-high

SKILL LEVEL IT'S BEST FOR:

Intermediate to Pro.

EARLY PLANING:

Very good.

FLOAT AND RIDE:

Excellent for float and ride conditions, volume distribution allows relaxed slogging and the extra width plus flatter deck gives good stability.

WHAT YOU THOUGHT OF WHEN YOU DESIGNED IT?:

I wanted to adapt some of the current concepts in surfboard design to windsurfing to create a shape that is very high-performance but still very accessible to the average sailor.

WHAT IT POSSIBLY COMPROMISES ON THEN?:

Maybe not as loose as the Wave I tight in the pocket

OUTLINE:

A pulled-in nose leads to a clean, even curve with the widepoint pulled a bit forward and ending in a classic rounded pintail. Overall slightly wider, but the width is kept moderate to narrow through the stance and tail to maintain sensitivity.

RAILS:

Very soft tucked rails in the nose area with a release edge starting forward of the front strap and remaining tucked to the back strap. 

ROCKER:

Moderate wave-rocker with a continuous curve through the stance and the tail. 

BOTTOM:

Flat from the nose into a double concave under the mast base transitioning through to stance to V out the tail. The double concave promotes early planing and a softer ride while the V adds grip and sensitivity off the tail. 

DECK:

Flattened deck with thickness flow biased forward to keep a balanced forward stance in sub-planing conditions.

FINS:

Thruster setup with larger center and sidebites. This board works well with larger fins compared to the Wave I. 

FINAL STATEMENT:

Back to the Future? A classic outline with a modern feel.
