About the board
General goal | theme of the board
A fast stable board for small waves.
Wave type ||| size it's working best
Most softer wave types, open down the line waves. From just over knee high up to overhead as long as it's soft.
Maneuvers it does best
Pure down the line speed and cutbacks on nothing.
Skill level it's best for
Novice to Advanced.
Paddle power
SPEED: Excellent.
DIRECTIONAL CONTROL: Excellent.
OVER WHITE WATER: Excellent.
WAVE CATCHING ABILITY: Excellent.
What you thought of when you designed it?
The goal was to get novice paddlers into the surf, on a surf style board, to be able to catch really small waves and have the board still function. A board that offered good stability and paddle power.
What it possibly compromises on then?
Doesn’t like sucky waves of any description unless they are very down the line and fast, with no chance of doing any turns in the pocket.

Design info
Outline
Full nose, clean straighter outline into a wide moon tail. The wider nose, straighter mid section and wide tail all add to stability while stationary. The full nose helps get the board going quickly and into waves and over white water. The straighter mid section holds really good speed and the wider tail will drive off the softest sections and connect easily down the line. While the moon offers slightly more hold than if it was just a wide square.
Rails
Slightly fuller medium volume with hard bottom edges. The rails are not super thick, even though we were chasing maximum stability, being a wider board it needed less rail volume to help it turn. It has a distinct hard edge, tucked in the nose and super hard in the tail. This is the primary reason why it’s called the Skate as it just skates along right on top as the water releases cleanly from the bottom edge without wrapping the rail and pulling it further down into the water.
Rocker
The flattest surf SUP we make. The flatter rocker has loads of glide and carry when catching waves and also adds to the overall speed the board carries down the line and through turns.
Bottom
Flat Bottom. Fast, fast, fast.
Deck
Standard. Comfortable standing area, not too rolled.
Fins
Thruster. Standard reliable performance thruster.
Final Statement
An easy wave catching, stable fun small wave board. It easily makes sections and powers through cutbacks on the softest parts of the wave. Also surprisingly fast down the line.
